Community Development
The Pebble Partnership established the independent Pebble Fund as a resource to help foster sustainable communities, activities, educational programs and projects throughout Southwest Alaska.
- 5-year, $5 million endowment
- Supports a broad range of community-led initiatives for sustainable economic development
- Investment by the Pebble Partnership in long-term social, economic, education and environmental health of Southwest Alaska
- Administered by the Alaska Community Foundation
- $1.6 million in community support through 2009, leveraging nearly $10 million in additional matching funds
Community Vision
The Pebble Fund awards grants twice annually to projects that support sustainable infrastructure and sustainable community development in Southwest Alaska. A wide variety of projects have been considered and awarded grants, from community centers to waste disposal systems, wind turbines to school music programs and more.
